Fabien - From The Reel To The Ring

Our favourite award winning (and brave) young Film Director Fabien Soazandry , is soon to be participating in a charity boxing match taking place in Manchester on the 27th January 2012 . In an effort to raise funds and increased awareness for the ACLT (Afro-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust ) and Bright Ideas Trust .

Now Fabien has absolutely no boxing experience (AT ALL) so in order for him to go from zero to hero he’s currently undergoing an intensive training program with legendary Angolan/Cuban boxing trainer (responsible for the undefeated British boxer Chris Evangelous) and x5 times gold medallist Chilas Paulo-muhongo.

It doesn’t end there - as part of his training Fabien will also be climbing Ben Nevis to its summit alongside Dwayne Field (the first Black Brit to trek across the North Pole) AND THEN...1 month prior to combat he’ll commence a cross country fund-raising rally where he’ll be found training in various boxing gyms around the country, trading advice and sparring with Britain’s best fighters. True to his trade; the entire expedition will be documented by his film production company VOGFX . (Check out some video footage in the video player above)

So why boxing and why now, you ask?

Well he was inspired by this summers UK riot/looting frenzy and simply just wants to inspire other young people to channel their energy into something positive, as well as raise awareness for a very worthy cause and trust. (ACLT & Bright Ideas)
